On 3rd March 2025, the East Midlands Keep Fit Association hosted a lively Come Dancing: Laban Dance Fitness for 50+ session at Jubilee Hall, Standen Road, Anstey, Leicester. Led by Keep Fit instructor Mo Watson, this special event welcomed older adults to experience movement designed to support healthy ageing through accessible and enjoyable dance techniques.
A Dance Session for All
The event ran from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, offering participants a chance to engage in gentle, rhythmic Laban Dance Fitness, incorporating seated and standing exercises. The session focused on movement, connection, and well-being, ensuring that everyone could participate in a way that suited their abilities.
Following the session, attendees stayed for an extra 30 minutes, enjoying a friendly chat and the opportunity to connect with others in a relaxed setting. Regular class members also benefited from a free week, making the occasion even more special.

The Jubilee Hall event was part of the broader Let’s Dance 2025 campaign, which encouraged people across the country to embrace movement and enjoy the benefits of Laban Dance Fitness. The warm and welcoming environment of the session allowed attendees to experience the joy of creative choreography, inspired by Rudolf Laban’s techniques.
