Janet Balfour’s Enchanting “Beauty and the Beast” Dance Performance

CHR 1384

Janet Balfour, one of our dedicated teachers, inspires young people to move and dance through Laban Dance. In her latest piece, she drew inspiration from the timeless story of “Beauty and the Beast.” The dance followed the journey of Bella, a bright and independent young woman who finds herself trapped by the Beast. Through her compassion and acceptance, Bella discovers the Beast’s kind heart beneath his exterior and realises that true beauty lies within a person’s character.
Janet’s choreography beautifully captured the essence of this classic tale, showcasing the transformative power of love and acceptance. The performance was a testament to the enduring relevance of the story and the emotional depth that dance can convey.
