On 2 March 2025, the Keep Fit Association proudly supported a spectacular Let’s Dance Down the Valley event in Calderdale, raising funds for the Overgate Hospice Big Build Appeal. Coordinated by dedicated Keep Fit Laban Dance Fitness teachers, Sue Price and Rebecca Slaven, this event brought together over 100 participants in a joyful celebration of dance, community, and fundraising.
An Unforgettable Day Across Two Venues
This extraordinary event took place at Hebden Bridge Town Hall (1–4 PM) and Todmorden Learning Centre (3–6 PM), offering a packed schedule of dance sessions and movement styles. The day featured a rich variety of dance genres, ensuring that every participant found something to enjoy.
Attendees experienced:
– High-energy dance fitness to set an electrifying tone for the day
– Adult Ballet, showcasing grace and poise
– Swing Dance, led by Rebecca, bringing fun and rhythm to the dance floor
– Laban lyrical class, guided by Sue Price, inspiring movement through expressive choreography
– Dancercise, 5 Rhythms, Ukrainian Dance, Bhangra, Belly Dancing Freestyle, and even a Silent Disco, providing a vibrant mix of styles
A Community United for a Cause
The event was a huge success, with participants coming together not only to enjoy dance but to support a vital charity initiative. The Keep Fit Association’s Huddersfield and Halifax branch worked tirelessly to ensure that donations flowed in, helping Overgate Hospice continue its essential work in the community.
