On 2nd March 2025, the Notts/Derby Keep Fit Association (KFA) took the joy of dance beyond physical venues and into the digital space with an online Laban Lyrical session. Hosted by the superb Lisa Terry, known as Lisa Dances, this free Zoom event welcomed participants from all across the country to experience the beauty of Keep Fit Laban Dance Fitness from the comfort of their own homes.
Bringing Dance to Everyone
Lisa was determined to make the Let’s Dance celebrations accessible to all, especially those who might find it difficult to attend in-person events. With this vision in mind, she took Laban Dance Fitness online, ensuring that everyone, regardless of location, could participate.
The session, running from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM, introduced dancers to a unique one-off dance piece, designed to embody the creative and expressive movement style of Laban Dance. Guided by Lisa’s expertise, participants immersed themselves in the sheer joy of movement, making it a truly memorable event.
A Community of Dance Enthusiasts
The session saw a fantastic turnout, with 38 dancers from various parts of the country—spanning all ages and backgrounds. Even a few pets joined in the fun, adding an extra layer of delight to the morning.
The choice of Feeling Good as the session’s music further enhanced the atmosphere, setting a positive and uplifting tone throughout the event. Participants embraced the fluid, expressive style of Laban Dance, and Lisa’s teaching ensured that everyone felt included and inspired.
A Celebration of Joyful Movement
Lisa’s dedication to Laban Dance Fitness and her commitment to spreading its benefits was evident in every step of the session. The online format removed barriers, allowing individuals to connect through dance and experience the energy of Let’s Dance Day in a new and exciting way.
