On 5 and 6 March 2025, Laban Dance teacher Sharon Ladbury hosted two wonderful Let’s Dance sessions at Totton Conservative Club Empire Hall, inviting participants to experience the joy of holistic full-body movement and lyrical dance. The event was designed to be accessible to all, welcoming newcomers and experienced dancers alike.
A Warm and Inclusive Dance Experience
Running from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, both sessions introduced creative choreography based on the renowned techniques of Rudolf Laban. Sharon provided a friendly and engaging environment, ensuring participants felt comfortable and inspired to move freely.
One attendee, who had discovered the event through a TV segment, thoroughly enjoyed the class and decided to join the group on a weekly basis. A testament to the welcoming and encouraging atmosphere that Sharon cultivated.
A Success for the Let’s Dance Initiative
As part of the broader Let’s Dance campaign, Sharon’s sessions helped promote Laban Dance to a wider audience, encouraging people to explore dance as a tool for fitness, self-expression, and joy. The sessions were free, allowing anyone interested in movement to take part without barriers.
