Every Year the KFA recognizes all the hard work and dedication it receives from our volunteers working on behalf of the organisation. We appreciate all that each and every one does, devoting so much time and energy to their roles
The KFA would not survive if it were not for this contribution and so each year we show our appreciations with these National Awards.
What our 2018 Winners say
“What a wonderful surprise on my return from holiday to find your letter waiting for me. It really lifted my spirits knowing that someone had taken the trouble to nominate me and I had been chosen from the many KFA volunteers around the country to receive this Award,
I do feel fortunate to have belonged to this fantastic organisation for so many years. My committee work started 55 years ago when I responded to a plea from my teacher for a secretary on the Derbyshire KFA committee. Through working on regional and national committees I have made lifelong friends from all over the UK – friends who give support during the difficult times and help to celebrate the good times.
Thank you very much for choosing me as Committee Member Volunteer of the Year 2018. it is a great honour to accept this,”
Kate Swinscoe
“It was a lovely surprise and to say that I am delighted and overwhelmed is putting it mildly. I feel it is a great honour and I am thrilled to bits. I can honestly say that I have received more than I hve given to the KFA and been given so many opportunities in the 52 years I have been a member. I have always been given a warm welcome at all the events I have attended , met some lovely people and made some wonderful friends. So, many many thanks.”

Member winner and overall winner – Gill Harris
“OMG! Totally shocked and honoured when the letter arrived to say I was volunteer of the year 2018 member winner. I have loved all my KFA classes over many many years and have made many lasting friendships in the KFA world. I have a brilliant teacher in Barbara Scragg who makes our weekly class so entertaining, we all laugh a lot! Thank you Barbara and KFA.”
