The Keep Fit Association Volunteer of the Year Awards 2020

Celebrating our Volunteers of the Year in 2020

Every Year the KFA recognizes all the hard work and dedication it receives from our volunteers working on behalf of the organisation. We appreciate all that each and every one does, devoting so much time and energy to their roles

The KFA would not survive if it were not for this contribution and so each year we show our appreciations with these National Awards.

What our 2020 winners say

Committee winner – Anne Toseland, Yorkshire Region

“What a lovely surprise to receive the certificate on my return from holiday. Although I knew I had been nominated , I never imagined that I would win.

Over the past 50 years I have loved doing classes with excellent teachers, keeping physically fit and healthy. As a committee member and treasurer for the Sheffield branch and Yorkshire region, it has kept me mentally active too.Thank you to all of my Keep Fit friends and committee colleagues for their support.

I hope the KFA manages to carry on despite the present troubles”

Teacher winner – Lisa Terry, East Midlands

“It’s been a difficult year for me as a KFA teacher, as it has been for many others.  The arrival of the Corona virus meant I had to move quickly to get classes running online and this, together with ensuring I kept in touch with all of my class members, has been really challenging at times. So when I received my Volunteer of the Year Certificate through the post in September I was thrilled – it really lifted my spirits.

I’d really like to thank everyone that nominated me for the award – it means a lot. But I’d also like to thank every single one of my class members. I don’t think they realise that they offer as much support to me as I do to them.

I think that is the beauty of the KFA, the friendships and support network you develop means that we all help each other. Thanks to you all”

Member winner – Therese Hall (deceased) from her son

“Our beloved Mum was heavily involved in Keep Fit for much of her life. One of her proudest memories was performing with her local group at the Royal Albert Hall. our family knows that she would be very proud to accept this award, and are grateful for all her friends for the nomination”
