Jean Roebuck is Yorkshire’s Volunteer of the Year and celebrated her 100th Birthday in March 2024.
Jean has been keeping fit since 1963, she has performed in lots of keep fit displays at branch, regional and national level, performing at the Royal Albert Hall in the the Yorkshire team over 15 times. She has regularly attended the National AGM, Regional AGM, the Championships, Panorama in the North East and the National Festival and is always eager to do the raffle for her local branch, Huddersfield & Halifax, events.
Huddersfield & Halifax branch held a party for Jean in Brighouse to celebrate her milestone 100th Birthday, where 56 people attended to surprise her. Many of whom Jean has known though her many years as a member of the Keep Fit Association. Everyone enjoyed afternoon tea followed by a lively session of ‘Boogie Bingo’ to get the party going.
At the Yorkshire ‘Shimmy into Spring’ event Jane Dewar presented Jean with the Yorkshire Volunteer of the Year Award in recognition of her many years of involvement with the region.
